Welcome to GBA Heritage

by Graham Brooks, Director

At GBA Heritage we believe conservation of the built environment can be regarded as the management of change.

We seek to retain, protect, revitalise and present that which is important in the historic built environment during the ongoing processes of social, technical and economic development, while incorporating contemporary solutions.

We are well known and respected for our unique combination of professional heritage consulting services in the conservation and revitalisation of the historic built environment, adaptation of historic buildings, new development in sensitive places, heritage asset management, strategic pathway advice, plus expert peer review and advice.

Our Unique Heritage Consultancy Model

GBA Heritage specialises entirely in providing Independent Built Heritage consultancy services.

We work with the appointed architects as well as the other professionals assembled for each project.

Over the years, we have developed long term relationships with clients, consent authorities and a wide range of colleagues.

Our Passion

We have long been passionate supporters of the creation, conservation and revitalisation of the historic built environment, both in Australia and beyond.

We study how evolving natural, traditional and historic forces, over many thousands of years across so many different places around the world, continue to influence contemporary life and our own professional responses.

How we Partner with You

“As your heritage consultant, GBA can assist you in a collaborative manner to gain a detailed understanding of the unique aspects, limitations and opportunities of each project.”

“Established

in 1996…”

…as Graham Brooks and Associates, GBA Heritage has grown in stature and reputation over the decades.  Our consultancy model develops a deep understanding of places, combined with architectural examination, historical research and heritage conservation objectives, drawn from up to 50 years of individual professional experience of our senior staff.  This understanding is then focused entirely on complementing the project work of our professional colleagues

Acknowledgement of Country

GBA Heritage respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live and delight in.  We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.  We acknowledge their unique understanding of, and ability to care for Country, as well as their spiritual connection to Country.
